JMU SWE first ever Mr. Engineering Pageant. This is an engineering styled pageant just for the men! It includes a talent section, questions, and a modeling section.

Journey Through NASA Lunch Talk with Jill Prince- February 2016

NASA Chief Engineer, Jill Prince, came to JMU to give her presentation, "Journey Through NASA: One Woman's Career in Aerospace Engineering". She discussed her journey from academic career to life in NASA, followed by a Q&A. This presentation was followed with free boxed lunches, provided by the John C. Wells Planetarium.

2nd Annual High School Engineering Outreach Day- November 2015

This was our 2nd annual High School Engineering Outreach event to get high school girls exposed to engineering! These girls participated in a design challenge, circuitry lab, 3D printing session, and listened to a keynote speaker.

WE'15 Conference- October 2015.

40 JMU engineering students came to the Dinner with Industry Event hosted by SWE. The event was sponsored by Northrop Grumman and JMU SWE was very excited to welcome back a few JMU Alumni, including Kathy Warden: Corporate Vice President and President of Northrop Grumman Information Systems! 7 Northrop Grumman executives and recruiters attended and networked with the JMU engineers. All guests ate dinner, networked, and listed to a live interview with Kathy warden.

Expanding Your Horizons Conference at JMU - March 2015

Expanding your Horizons (EYH) is a one day STEM conference for girls in grades 6-10. JMU SWE hosted a candy bridge workshop to teach the girls about engineering as a whole, and more specifically about bridges and what makes them be able to hold cars and people. This workshop gave the girls hands on engineering experience and provided them with female role models. The girls got into teams of 2 and built a candy bridge that could hold as many candy bars as possible.

JMU SWE collaborated with the other JMU engineering organizations to celebrate E-Week! We had a great time working with NSBE, EWB, and Sigma Phi Delta. There was a networking breakfast, trivia night, professional development workshops, and a day to wear your engineering gear!
